Dahab, Sinai:

The Sinai peninsula belongs to Egypt and borders Israel and Jordan (almost) in the Gulf of Aquaba.

Starting point for your vacation is the pictoresque Bedouin village Dahab on the Eastern coast of Sinai, far away from the main tourist areas, which invites you with its characteristic flair to take a creative break from your everyday routine.

Dahab is Arabic for gold, a name derived from the 'golden' sand of the bay of Dahab just as much as the 'golden' shimmer of the Sinai mountain range when the sun is setting or rising over the Red Sea.

Rocks and dunes in Sinai

The interior of the Sinai peninsula with its fascinating rock formations and stone deserts is for the most part untouched land and uninhabited except for some Bedouin tribes and their favorite pets, the camels.

Mount Sinai and the Monastery of St. Catherines make for some unforgettable visual and spiritual experiences in a biblical environment and are the starting points for some demanding mountain trekking.
